Air Filter Maintenance and Upkeep

The air filter removes dust and dirt from the air. The filtered clean air enters the compression chamber of the screw rotor for compression.  The internal clearance of the screw compressor only allows particles smaller than 15µm to pass through. If the air filter element becomes clogged or damaged, a large number of particles larger than 15µm will enter the screw compressor's circulation system, significantly reducing the lifespan of the oil filter and oil separator element. It will also cause a large number of particles to enter the bearing chamber, accelerating wear, increasing rotor clearance, leading to reduced compression efficiency, and even causing the rotor to seize due to dryness.

The air filter element should be maintained weekly. Unscrew the nut, remove the air filter element, and use compressed air to blow out dust particles from the inner cavity of the air filter element. Wipe away any dirt from the inner wall of the air filter housing with a cloth. Reinstall the air filter element, ensuring that the sealing ring at the front of the air filter element is tightly fitted against the inner end face of the air filter housing.

Typically, the air filter element should be replaced every 1000-1500 hours. In harsh environments, it is recommended to replace the air filter element every 500 hours.

When cleaning or replacing the air filter element, the parts should be aligned one by one to prevent foreign objects from entering the intake valve.

Regularly check whether the intake expansion pipe is damaged or flattened, and whether the connection between the expansion pipe and the air filter intake valve is loose or leaking. Repair and replace as needed.
