Variable-frequency air compressors are more energy-efficient than conventional models and, in theory, offer a significantly longer service life. However, achieving this extended lifespan requires regular inspections and scheduled maintenance. In this guide, we will cover the essentials of daily maintenance for variable-frequency air compressors.
1. Check the air filter element and coolant level.
2. Inspect hoses and all pipe fittings for leaks.
3. Monitor consumable parts; if they have reached their replacement interval, shut down the unit to replace them.
4. Check the air-end discharge temperature (typically 70°C–95°C). If the temperature is too high, clean the oil cooler.
5. Check for condensate accumulation; if condensate is found in the air-oil tank, shut down the unit and drain it.
6. Listen for any abnormal noises during operation.
Important Notes for Variable-Frequency Air Compressors:
1. Ensure the power supply is connected only when the variable-frequency drive (VFD) and PLC indicator lights are off.
2. If a fault alarm occurs, contact our after-sales service team immediately. Please provide details regarding the alarm message, total operating hours, your location, and your contact information.
3. During initial startup, verify that the cooling fan is blowing in the correct direction (air intake from the bottom, exhaust from the top).
4. Do not mix lubricants from different brands.
5. Refer to the user manual for specific replacement intervals and detailed procedures for consumables and lubricants.
6. For air-cooled units, clean the finned heat exchanger weekly using an air blow gun. For water-cooled units, ensure proper water quality; if the ambient temperature drops below 2°C, stop the cooling fan and drain the cooling water.
